introduced innovative insurance products
designed to meet the evolving needs of
our clients. Our new construction product
is tailored specifically for mid-sized
projects like SMRs and Advanced Modular
Reactors (AMRs), enabling us to provide
seamless coverage from inception
through completion in combination with
NRI’s existing nuclear insurance products.
Additionally, recognising the growing
cyber threats within our sector, we’ve
launched CyNuC—a pioneering cyber
insurance solution crafted to protect
nuclear power plants against malicious
digital attacks.

provide unparalleled support and
protection to the civil nuclear industry.
This commitment aligns closely with
the UK Government’s renewed focus on
nuclear investment as part of its broader
security and industrial strategy. The
recent spending review unveiled a record
£30 billion commitment to the biggest
rollout of nuclear power in 50 years.
This includes a £14.2 billion green light
for Sizewell C, signalling strong political
backing for large-scale nuclear. Alongside
this, £14 billion is being allocated to
support over 10,000 new jobs ensuring
the sector’s long-term skills pipeline.
The government is also investing over
£2.5 million in Rolls-Royce’s SMR, noting
this is a flag ship in an upcoming fleet.
Strategic land availability at Sellafield and
a further £2.5 billion investment in nuclear
fusion underscore the UK’s ambition
to lead globally in advanced nuclear
technologies.
