INTRODUCTION
As we stand on the brink of a
transformative era in nuclear
energy, I am thrilled to present
the Nuclear Risk Insurers 2025
Annual Review. This year marks
a significant milestone for
our industry, characterised by
increased construction activities,
the groundbreaking initiation of
Small Modular Reactors (SMRs),
deployment of new GWe Nuclear
Power Plants (NPP’s), both
leading to expansion in nuclear
capacity and more recently the
prospect of NPP’s being brought
back online to support off-grid
data centre power demand
needs. These developments
are complemented by strategic
extensions of existing reactors,
all contributing to a robust and
resilient clean energy future.
